NOTE: This months meeting is a worldwide user group meeting at a different time and location than normal

On Wednesday, May 19th, the Memphis Macromedia User Group will be participating in the next Macromedia Worldwide User Group meeting.

Some of Macromedia's Product Managers will be broadcasting to us (and other user groups around the world) via Breeze Live, with never seen before sneaks on upcoming product releases!

We would love to tell you more -- we would love to make this announcement as exciting as possible -- but we have no CLUE!!!

That's because this stuff is top secret. Members of Team Macromedia don't know. User Group Managers don't know. Only Macromedia knows what will be shown -- and there are even those in Macromedia who do not have that information.

We can promise you that it will be worth it.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting!

- allow a user with administrative privileges to update pricing & availability

This will include elements of:
- Flash Remoting (intermediate actionscript code)
- Intermediate actionscript code
- Setting up a remoting connection using a method not generally demonstrated on the web
- Retrieving & Sending data

SEPTEMBER 2003 (NOTE: Different day and time than normal)

I have some very exciting news. For the very first time in Macromedia history, the company has decided to do a worldwide user group meeting and our group is going to participate. Using Macromedia's latest communication solution, Breeze Live, our User Group will participate in the meeting in real-time over the web. In addition to seeing the presentation online, we will be able to ask questions and interact with other User Groups and Macromedia.

I am thrilled to announce that by joining us at the September 3 worldwide user group event, you will be the first users to see the new Macromedia MX 2004 products. You will see demonstrations of Dreamweaver MX 2004, Flash MX 2004, Fireworks MX 2004, Studio MX 2004 and the all-new Flash Professional MX 2004.

We will also be raffling off a copy of Studio MX 2004 to those attending the event, so make sure to join us! The event will be broadcast over Macromedia's Breeze Live so you'll also experience Macromedia's newest collaboration tool.

So please mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 3 at 6:00 PM CST.

AUGUST 2003

This month Brook Johnson from Green Mountain Consulting will be our guest speaker. (http://www.greenmountainconsulting.com)

He will be walking through a customer implementation schedule application his company wrote for themselves in Coldfusion. It displays and updates a list of tasks that must be performed to bring a customer on board. There are screens to add a schedule for a new customer, add a task to a customers schedule, update a schedule, display all schedules, and close a schedule when complete.

On the technical side, Brook will discuss creating and using dynamic variable names. The application uses stored procedures, so he will demonstrate <cfstoredproc> with input parameters and result sets. He will also show some of the SQL database and stored procedures used to build the application.
